Gas- Inspired by hopper

It was a late night after a long day and i found myself behind the wheel on an open road. I never remembered starting the car or even putting on my seatbelt, but i would always end up at the same place. I would blast the same old songs that i had on my phone and roll the windows down to feel the wind blow through my hair. Sometimes i would take different routes just to mix it up so its not the same road, same stoplights, or same buildings every time. Taking those different routes would almost be terrifying but an adrenaline rush at the same time, you never knew where you would end up or if you would get lost. But even though its scary there is also a calming aspect to it, you were lost but you were lost on purpose, and i always found my way back home. When it was finally late enough and i realized that i used at least half a tank of gas that night i would drive to the only gas station that was open in my area, i would grab a cold peach tea and have the worker put the rest of the 20 dollar bill on pump 4. When i was here i would know that my night of driving was over and that i can go home and get some sleep. Cause tomorrows always a new day.
